Incarnation - the Gift Was God's son born December 25th about 2000 years ago, having been conceived in March at the time of his 33 years later "Triumphal Entry" at Jerusalem?1 Or was he born on Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, Tishri 15 - our September, having been conceived on Chanukah, Kislev 25 or in December, celebration of the Temple's rededication in Jerusalem?2 Was he God's Son, or did God have a son at all? Many have wondered. Listen to the angel Gabriel's proclamation that still echoes in the universe. "'. . . Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.'" "'. . . that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.'"3 Whether you celebrate His conception, or His birth this December is not as important as believing Gabriel's report and the reports of "thousands times ten-thousands" of saints and martyrs who have given their lives to say "I believe." The most important act of your life is to believe Jesus Christ the Messiah, Yeshua Ha Mashiach, was conceived "by the power of the Holy Spirit."4 That He, God, humbled Himself and risked being born on this fallen, sin-invaded planet through a humble Jewish youth and virgin, Mary - Miryam. This event is known as the incarnation. The next most important action is to believe that God, the Son, came to earth to seek and save you, because He loves you. To have your own incarnational reality, you need only say "yes" to that love. Without Jesus' coming you'd have no future, no eternal life, no forever after. At this moment, or when you hear a Carol like "Silent Night," "Hark the Herald Angels Sing," "Oh Come Let us Adore Him," will you say "yes?" Will you make a place in your heart for Him to dwell, to tabernacle, to sukkot forever? Seasons blessings and love, Rita and the staff at CRA 1.
