by Rita Bennett The Florida hurricanes have ceased, Mount St. Helens has stopped belching plumes of dust, and the U.S. elections are over. Its been quite a year! Now the holidays, meant to be Holy Days, are upon us. Time to think of family, preparing favorite foods, and buying or making gifts for Christmas or Hanukkah for those we love. U.S. Marines are fighting through the streets of Fallujah with their eyes on a ScanEagle, a miniature robotic airplane. The camera images and data are distributed by the airplane controllers, saving soldiers' lives. These new creations from Bingen, Oregon near the Columbia River Gorge, remind me of the scripture about witty inventions.1 "I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions" (Proverbs 8:12 kjv). Another invention that has the world looking upward is the Japanese delicate solar space sail. Solar sails reflect light particles from the Sun, gaining momentum in the opposite direction to propel the spacecraft forward. There are two sails. The first is a clover-type with four segments, the second a fan-type with six segments. These sails continue accelerating the craft and enable it to reach distant targets in amazing time. The Institute of Space Astronautical Science has successfully tested two of these devices. Talk is of interstellar travel.2 Some of us will perhaps fly in a solar space sail, but one day, when the winged archangel calls, we Believers will also fly past the stars on Holy Spirit power (I Thessalonians 4:16,17). In the book of Daniel, Michael the archangel prophesies, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased" (12:4 kjv). Such knowledge is escalating in our day. Could we be nearing the "End of the Age" as we know it? What about God moving through Salvation, Pentecost, and Inner Healing messages and leaders teaching students to pass on the blessings they have received? An exciting thing that happened this summer was when we received a report through our missionary Emotionally Free teacher, Gail Patton. She and the SOMA (Sharing of Ministries Abroad) team have trained East Africans with the message of our Basic Emotionally Free Course, which has now been translated from English into Kiswahili. The results have been phenomenal. This year on April 24, The Rev. John Lupaa sent a report from Rev. Musa Njagamba. It is about a mission of 33 Emotionally Free trained students who participated in outreach from St. John's Theological Junior Seminary in Kilimentinde, Tanzania. The students spread out into different locations in Tanzania. What happened sounds like a modern day Book of Acts! "Tyeme - 5 students. The Lord healed an Islam man called Abis from his cancer! Three other people in the village responded to the gospel message and decided to be baptized. "Ikungi - 4 students taught Emotionally Free there. When they insisted that a personal relationship with Jesus is necessary for people's inner healing, and that they must renounce cult and occult involvement in their lives, 18 people made the decision to follow Christ! The students were given a house by a man called Thomas Mandalu. They made it into a church by doing certain repairs. A permanent evangelist is now needed for nurturing purposes. "Ng'anguli - is a Muslim populated village where witchcraft is exercised to a great extent here. Many Evangelists had been fearing to reach out to this village due to the fear of witchcraft. 29 Muslims were converted and left their old evil practices! And on May 5, 2004, all were baptized! An evangelist is needed here also. "Shelui - 9 students. Five conversions; they were baptized on May 5, 2004. The students decided to build a church and laid the foundation. This work is still continuing. "In September 2004, 12 students are expected to revisit the mission area to see the work of the Lord and its continual growth. Two students will go to each village." Isn't it exciting to see how God is moving through these dedicated young seminary students? If you want to read more, you can go to our web site at www.EmotionallyFree.org. Visit the location of our previous newsletters and read the Spring 2004 edition with the lead article called "Emotionally Free for Africa." Print copies and give them to others to spread the good news of God's love. This newsletter also tells how you can assist in helping the work of SOMA and CRA, as we have joined hands in the ministry to Africa. Gail Patton told me recently that she often intercedes for Africa and feels "Emotionally Free is needed for the soul of Africa!" During her mission trips she has felt the pain the people have suffered. In prayer she says she has seen the Lord crying for their pain. Do lift up the African people and join Gail and me in prayer for further missions. Let's put this prayer need on our intercessory prayer list. This October I had the wonderful opportunity to teach the Emotionally Free Course in the Benedictine Monastery in Pecos, New Mexico. A team of 16 leaders traveled with me to teach and facilitate small discussion and prayer groups. This is the major charismatic monastery of the Catholic Church in America. In addition to our classes, we attended many of their morning, noon, and evening prayer services. I enjoyed the freedom of a light touch of singing in the Spirit for a few moments within the framework of their liturgy. Fr. Andrew, the other priests, the monks, and the sisters were all so kind and gentle to us. They exuded that quality of eternal friendship. I quote from a letter of thanks sent from a lovely student, Ginger Baker of Irving, Texas. The letter is shared here to bless you and also my co-teacher Bruce Makowski, as well as our entire team. Bruce was instrumental in our taking the ministry to the Benedictine Monastery. "Rita, I just want to thank you again for the incredible gift of love that was given to us last week at Pecos. Your scholarship and faithfulness are wonderfully evident throughout the materials, and your humility, tenderness, acceptance and love speak volumes of God's love for all His children. You have been such a marvelous messenger of that love. "Everything. Your prayer counselors and their sensitivity and dedication to giving foundational encouragement through the scriptures, the presentations delivered with such sincerity and professionalism by you and Bruce, the setting (Pecos was wonderful), the healing prayer, the times of worship with the community, the special worship experiences during which the Holy Spirit was so powerfully present. The very moving graduation ceremony was simply the most intense experience of the presence of the Lord that I have ever known. It was truly a life-changing experience. "It seems to me to have been a culmination of a period of preparation that the Lord has been doing in my life during which He has sent healing, along with the sense that He wants me to go deeper, and 'get serious.' So, again, thank you so much. There is really no way that I can quite put on paper at this time the depth of my experiences and my gratitude to you and your wonderful team, but I just wanted you to get a smidgen of an idea of how the Lord worked through you last week. May God continue to bless you, protect you, and keep you in all your ways. Blessings, Ginger Baker." Here we see God moving powerfully in the U.S. too. Of course, we all know that each of us on the teams that went to New Mexico, from Washington State and Oregon, were simply vessels of God that He was using to pour out His power and blessings. Only Heaven can record all the healing virtue that flowed through the team members during their times of counseling and prayer. And we always remember, "For without Him we can do nothing" (John 15:5). As Ginger reports to us, she is being drawn more fully into discipleship. What are our lives for if not to spread God's healing love everywhere we go? To do so we need to equip ourselves with in-depth study of His Word, receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, and the deep knowledge that He is willing to teach us to heal the wounded, abused, and broken through prayer. What a wonderful calling each of us has in our families at home, or as we travel near or far. This is the life-giving work that is available to all. Thank you, my friends, for helping me and my staff continue this important work: Pat Pierson for 12 years; Michele Libin, new this fall; John Watson, webmaster; and myself for 36 years. We cannot do this without you. We'd like to see the ministry grow and reach more people. If you have a tug in your heart in this direction of ministry, plan to join us for the National Emotionally Free Basic and Advanced Courses the last week of July, Sunday through Saturday, 2005, in Edmonds, Washington. Join us for an awesome week of God's presence and miracles! And at this year's end, do strengthen Christian Renewal Association, Inc. with your tax-deductible charitable giving, as we are a 501-C-3 organization. We're being propelled into 2005 by the Holy Spirit; come and join us for the ride. May the incarnational reality of Jesus Christ's (Yeshua HaMashiach's) presence be with you this Holy Holiday Season.
