The
glorious main entrance to Heaven makes an awesome boulevard leading
us to our Saviour Jesus (Yeshua) who redeemed us, our Abba Father who
sent His only Son, and our comforter the Holy Spirit who faithfully
revealed all the Father and Son wanted us to know.
Rita,
who readily admits "I'm no artist," did not know that her first
simple effort of drawing a picture of Heaven would be the beginning
of a little bit of Heaven on earth. Her very rough picture she called
a "Front Door View of Heaven." came through an exercise in her
research as she studied the Book of Revelation for several years and
attempted to draw a picture of each of the twenty-two
chapters.1
The purpose of her pictures were to look at them as aids in remembering everything in each chapter. When she got to chapter 21, she was amazed that the first thing the traveler from earth to Heaven sees as he or she walks in Heaven's entrance is an amazing boulevard. Since drawing is not her gift, Rita's boulevard drawing was not something she was willing to show others!
Now with Sally Moser's lovely rendition of the "Front Door of Heaven," immediately one sees a flowing river of life, and on each side of the river is a kind of Garden of Eden transplanted here, graced by six huge Trees of Life for a total of twelve trees with twelve kinds of fruit on each tree. Then flanked on either side of this sight are the incredible streets of transparent gold. This scene is believed to be a first as neither artist or author had ever seen a picture drawn of it.
Heaven is called by many descriptive names. One is "City Foursquare" because it is a square of 1,500 miles on each side. The total length of the wall around the City is therefore 6,000 miles. Since the Throne of God is in the middle, then the River of Life would be 750 miles long or longer if it meanders. The river issues from under the Throne, most likely flowing toward the other eleven gates, the same as with this primary Eastern Gate.
Here is another place in this description where we see similarities of the New and Old Jerusalem. Many Believers are looking forward to the Millennial Reign of Messiah when He returns to earth. At that time, it is understood that rivers of water will issue from the Throne of the Temple in Jerusalem.
Rebecca Springer in her book "Within the Gates" tells of her vision of Heaven at a time when she nearly died. During four days in a coma she said she experienced bathing in the River of Life as a cleansing, refreshing and healing experience. That is a personal testimony but wonderful to think about.
With such incredible fruit on the trees at the entrance, undoubtedly it is there enjoy. It will be an experience of a lifetime, eating of fruit that satisfies our entire being and fulfills our eternal life. We'll eat of the Tree of Life which was denied to mankind in the Garden of Eden. Now Eden's Garden is transplanted and multiplied in the gardens of Heaven.
If you could zoom in by computer, you'd get a better look at the people walking toward the Throne praising God, arms lifted in praise. What a happy scene! That can be us someday.
