Dennis and Rita Bennett formed the Christian Renewal Association in 1968 while recording a daily radio program in Los Angeles, California from their home, at that time, in Seattle, Washington. Shortly after this, it was recognized as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization which later became more active in 1981. The Bennetts were married for twenty-five years before Dennis died in November 1991. Rita has since then been President of CRA which is located in Edmonds, 15 miles northwest of Seattle in Washington State, U.S.A. Dennis-The Full Bio with Photo. Canon of Honor in the Episcopal Church, M.A. degree from the University of Chicago, author of five books as well as numerous articles, and pastor for 37 years. Over 24 years, the late Canon Dennis Bennett spoke and taught in many places. The list includes many cathedrals, Southwark and Birmingham in England, Uppsala Cathedral in Sweden, and many in the US. He has been guest preacher in Stanford University Chapel, and Great St. Mary's, and Cambridge University, England. He spoke for many seminary faculties and student bodies, including four major seminaries of the Church of England, and Church of New Zealand, and the State Church (Lutheran) Seminary, Oslo, Norway. He was a leader in a three-day mission for the faculty and students of Princeton Theological Seminary. Bennett spoke at many universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, Stanford, MIT, California at Berkeley, NYU, Princeton, and many more. He lectured at several Roman Catholic schools, including Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, and the Jesuit College at Chipping Norton in England. Dennis Joseph Bennett was born in London (Ponders End), England, October 28, 1917, son of Joseph Henry Bennett, Congregational minister. At age nine Dennis came with his family to the USA, and was brought up in Campbell, California, then a small farming community in the heart of the Santa Clara Valley. He did undergraduate work at San Jose State College. He had three children by his first wife, Elberta: Margi, Stephen and Conrad. Teaming up in ministry with his wife Rita in 1966, he continued to teach at some 20 to 25 seminars and conferences each year, in various parts of the nation and the world. Approximately half of these were sponsored by parishes or dioceses of the Episcopal (Anglican) Church. Shortly after celebrating his 25th Wedding Anniversary with Rita, October 15, 1991, Dennis Bennett made his departure to receive his "Well done, good and Faithful Servant," on November 1, 1991, All Saints Day.

Bennett-A Brief Bio Rita Bennett is known internationally for her work in Emotional Healing. Her bachelor of Arts degree in Education is from the University of Florida. She taught elementary school and a class for mentally disabled children in Tampa. Rita then took a position assisting in rehabilitation of emotionally wounded children in Newark, New Jersey and returned to Tampa to work several years as a child welfare social worker. Her teaching and rehab backgrounds, plus being a pastor's wife for twenty-five years, equips her well for her calling to heal the broken in heart and soul. Bennett has written eight best-selling books, two of which were coauthored with her late husband, Dennis. She is the creator of two Courses, "Emotionally Free" and "Inner Wholeness Lord's Prayer." Rita was best known originally by her first major book the 100,000 seller "You Can Be Emotionally Free." The Course that followed is called Emotionally Free ® with a 250-page syllabus. Bennett's teaching is centered in the ancient inspired words of Scripture and divine unconditional love. Her teaching and prayer has taken her to twelve countries as well as much of the United States. She hosts and co-produces a Northwest bimonthly television program at KTBW, Tacoma. Bennett has been interviewed many times on national TV programs, especially TBN, and CBN, as well as numerous local ones in the U.S. She has been interviewed on nearly one hundred radio stations. Retreats, and hundreds of churches, some cathedrals and universities in USA and other nations, have invited Rita to share her message of hope and faith. By 1999, her latest book "To Heaven and Back" has sold 186,000 copies in just two years. |
